N95 Kimberly Clark Brand Particle Respirators Surgical May 28, 2009 Maki 4 out of 7 found this review helpful
Bought them because of the Swine Flu alert going on at the time. Never actually used them, but when compared to others that I have seen these look of a higher quality, are N95 rated which means they filter out particles that are 1 to 5 microns and have a flexible metal strip located at the top of the mask which allows for modification so that the mask contours to your face and nose.
No fitting required... May 1, 2009 Rogue Security Consulting 6 out of 9 found this review helpful
As stated, these are the MINIMUM requirements for protection. There are better, far more expensive respirators. This is where the issue is; due to the level of protection, it is called a respirator and as a general rule, respirators need to be professionally fitted for proper protection. Since these are masks (adjustable bridge with elastic), there is no fitting required for THESE N95 masks. For even better protection, use self adhesive medical tape to seal the edges and there are no issues.
PLEASE do NOT state "facts" unless you know they are true...
Recommended by the CDC May 1, 2009 Mark D. Zima 2 out of 6 found this review helpful
I googled as Tennessee Jed suggested, read the article, and found that the CDC DOES specifically recommend the N-95, N-99, and N-100 as the "the minimum level of respiratory protection that should be worn." So NOT a waste of money. A good seal between mask and face IS important, however.
